How do I get started?
How to book with Lunar Tattoo
Each Lunar artist has their own style and process, so we recommend starting with a free sit‑down consultation. During a consultation you’ll discuss your idea, placement, size, reference images, and any questions about aftercare or scheduling. This helps the artist understand your vision and provide an accurate time and price estimate.
Steps to book:
Choose an artist whose portfolio matches your style preferences.
Book a free consultation using the booking form on this site. Select an available consultation slot that works for you.
Bring or upload reference images and any notes about placement, size, or color.
After the consultation the artist will confirm whether the design fits their style and will schedule your tattoo appointment or provide a quote and next steps.
What to expect at the consultation:
A relaxed, private conversation about your concept.
Guidance on design choices, sizing, and placement.
Clear information about pricing, session length, and deposit requirements.
Answers to safety and aftercare questions.
How much does a tattoo cost?
Tattoos vary in price depending on size, placement, and complexity. Shey charges by the piece, with rates set per design. Savannah bills at $150 per hour, and Meagan at $180 per hour. Our shop minimum is $80.
If you would like a quote prior to booking, please book a free consultation with the artist of your choice. They will be able to give you an estimate.
how do i prepare for a tattoo appointment?
Preparing for your tattoo
Drink water in the days and hours leading up to your appointment. Being well-hydrated helps your skin and can reduce discomfort.
Do not skip breakfast. It’s very important to arrive fed and well rested.
There is no need to shave before your appointment — your artist will take care of any prep.
Wear comfortable clothes that allow easy access to the area being tattooed.
If desired, bring a blanket, pillow, or jacket; the shop can be cold at times.
Snacks and drinks will be available at the studio, but if you have allergies or sensitivities (or a long session booked), bring your own safe snacks.
What is your cancellation/reschedule policy?
Lunar Tattoo Studio maintains a strict no-refunds policy: deposits are non-refundable. Customers may reschedule once without losing their deposit, provided they notify their artist at least 48 hours in advance; failure to provide 48 hours’ notice, choosing to cancel, or requesting more than one reschedule will result in forfeiture of the deposit..
Can I use numbing cream?
We strongly discourage the use of numbing creams for tattoo sessions. While we understand wanting to reduce discomfort, topical anesthetics can interfere with the tattoo process and the long‑term outcome. Risks include:
Poor healing: Some numbing products can cause delayed or uneven healing, increasing the chance of scabbing, infection, or ink loss.
Color and saturation problems: Numbing creams may affect how the skin takes and retains pigment, leading to patchy color or diminished vibrancy.
Product quality and contamination: Over‑the‑counter or unverified creams can contain additives or contaminants that react with tattoo ink or cause skin irritation and allergic reactions. Because these products vary widely in formulation and labeling, they present an unknown risk to the procedure.
If you feel you need a numbing agent, it must be discussed and approved in advance by your artist. The artist may provide specific instructions about acceptable products, application timing, and precautions. Only use a numbing cream when explicitly instructed by your artist.
If you arrive with numbing cream already applied, or if it’s clear you used a numbing product without prior permission, the artist reserves the right to reschedule or cancel your appointment. This policy protects the quality and safety of your tattoo.
If you have concerns about pain management, please raise them before your appointment. Your artist can recommend safe alternatives and plan the session to make you as comfortable as possible.
